Iberia will use the iPad on its planes

The Spanish airline ibera will make available to cabin crew un iPad so that they quickly know the data and preferences of each of their passengers. More than 600 company workers will use an iPad with own applications to better manage the service on board as of September 1.

Iberia, the fourth airline in Europe in number of passengers, will be a pioneer when it comes to using this new service in Spain. Only two other airlines provide this type of service in Europe, British Airways and Swiss. With its use, Iberia intends to better serve its travelers, providing more efficient customer service, especially those who travel the most with the airline.

Cabin crew members will be able to know information about identity, nationality y flight preferences to provide personalized attention to the passenger, anticipating even their needs. It will also allow to know special situations of the passage, such as if there are passengers who need some type of special food, travelers in wheelchairs or minors who travel alone, having quickly located the seat in which the specific person is traveling. All these procedures will be carried out through its own application that Iberia will incorporate into the iPad.

The system for acquiring the new iPad by the airline will be through a contract of lease signed with Telefónica, which will be in charge of monitoring and supporting all devices. They will have a 3G connection as long as the airplane door remains open, going into Flight Mode as soon as it is closed.

In addition to all the data discussed above, the cabin crew will instantly know the possible changes that occur in the itinerario, being able to quickly inform passengers of them.
