The first Google Nexus 7 commercial has been released. This ad highlights the Nexus 7's already familiar qualities: its lightness and portability, its versatility, and its ease of use. Google is doing a fantastic job with its flagship tablet . They made sure to generate as much hype as possible before its launch. Its presentation was spectacular, with widespread coverage thanks to the Google+ coverage of the Google I/O event and all the materials and information they provided.
Now, just a few days after their release in stores, where they are achieving phenomenal results, they are targeting a more traditional audience through a television advertisement.
The Nexus 7 surprised many experts by opting for a smaller 7-inch screen , making it remarkably lightweight. It seemed this approach allowed it to avoid direct competition with the 9,7-inch iPad, choosing instead Amazon's Kindle Fire, with its nearly identical dimensions, as its rival. Regardless, tech media outlets frequently compare Google and Apple tablets, considering them their flagship devices. These comparisons cover a wide range of topics, from specification comparisons—something that seems rather pointless—to analyses of usage possibilities, a point Google seems to emphasize with its " The Playground is open" slogan . We also find comparisons between the Nexus 7 and the new iPad that help us decide which to buy in terms of durability and the feasibility of repairs, a topic we covered in a recent article .
Being compared to the king is a good sign. The Nexus 7 may even be experiencing what's known as a death by success, as it's already sold out on the Google Play Store in the US in the 16GB version, with only the 8GB version available after a slight delay. It's also sold out at several major retailers, primarily in the 16GB version. This might not be a stock miscalculation but rather an intentional campaign to create a sense of exclusivity and thus drive demand.
Unfortunately we still cannot buy it in Spain unless we order it from other countries.
