- Free up space if necessary, especially if you upgrade from One UI 7 and get the larger package.
- Make a backup before updating.
Context: From One UI 7's stumble to a more agile rollout
With One UI 7, Samsung chained delays and a critical failure which affected the lock screen, forcing the update to be temporarily withdrawn and then reissued.
To avoid repeating history, the One UI 8 beta started in May in four countries, expanded to six, and had several iterations; the seventh build, released on September 8, only introduced minor adjustments, paving the way to the stable version.
One UI 8 boots with the Galaxy S25 and an initial round in Korea, and will continue to roll out to more markets and models in the coming days. Key features of this release include AI features (Now Bar, Now Brief, AI results, and Gemini Live), security enhancements (KEEP, Knox Matrix, and Secure Wi-Fi), and a clear focus on stability. If you participated in the beta, you'll download less, while starting with One UI 7, the package will be larger.
