An app brings the Jelly Bean keyboard to Ice Cream Sandwich

Jelly Bean Keyboard

Without a doubt, one of the aspects of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean that raised the most expectation, and envy for users who could not have it on their devices, was the improvement of the keyboard. Well, the team of developers at XDA has released an application already available on Google Play so that users of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich can use this wonderful new keyboard. It must be version 4.0.3 to be able to download the application.

The new keyboard model is much more reliable and faster than the previous ones and provides a best prediction of text that is even capable of telling us what word we are going to write next. The dictionary has also improved significantly and now contains 18 additional languages.

The application that you can now download is called Jelly Bean Keyboard and it is not official from Google but it works perfectly and will give you the opportunity to enjoy almost the same as Jelly Bean users, at least as far as keyboard is concerned. The developer advises that it will continue to improve it to bring it closer to the original. At the moment, there are certain limitations, three that should be noted.

First, the user dictionary does not work in Ice Cream Sandwich, adding words causes crashes. Second, it is currently only available in English, German, French, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian. Third, word prediction and gap correction is only available in English.

Since Android 4.1 Jelly Bean was announced, we have seen how independent developers have managed to bring their news to devices with the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. To date, we already have the Google Ears, that application that recognizes songs, Google Now, the application that gives us accurate and advanced information about our environment and now the keyboard. It is certain that we will continue to see such favorable shortcuts arrive.
