For all those who do not want to make a significant outlay to acquire a tablet and, however, have qualms when it comes to trusting low-cost manufacturers, it is good news to know that some of the large firms have in their catalogs devices that offer adequate features for basic use at quite affordable prices, as is the case of Asus with the Memo Pad 7 y Acer with the Iconia B1, two tablets that were presented at the beginning of this year and of which we have already shown you comparisons. However, recently we have known the new generations of both tablets, which have come with important improvements in technical specifications, so we bring you a comparison updated with the characteristics of the new models.
Designer
Regarding the physical aspect, the changes between the old and new models of both tablets are quite minor: the new Memo Pad HD 7 It is slightly longer and wider, but a little less thick (but the differences are practically imperceptible) and, yes, significantly lighter; The new Iconia-B1, for his part, will suffer above all cosmetic changes and it seems that it will lose its characteristic blue plastic trim, in favor of another with an aluminum look.
If we compare the dimensions of both tablets, despite having the same screen size, that of Asus is a little smaller19,68 x 12 cm against 19,74 x 12,85 cm) and less thick (10,8 mm front 11,3 mm). Also its weight (seriously reduced in the new model) is now less, although the difference with the tablet of Acer is also minimal: 320 grams against 302 grams.

Screen
As we say both have the same screen size, 7 inches and also the same aspect ratio, 16:10, which is the same format that we find in the Nexus 7. Previously, the two tablets also tied in image quality, with an identical resolution of 1024 x 600. However, this is a point where the Memo Pad HD 7 has improved remarkably, raising its resolution to 1280 x 800 (and also equaling the Nexus 7 at this point), while in the Iconia B1 there has been no evolution.
Unlimited
The main improvements of the new models of both tablets have been mainly concentrated in this section. In the case of Acer, the processor dual core has been replaced by one of quad core, although maintaining the same power (1,2 GHz). A similar modification has been made in the Asus, which has replaced the processor single core a 1 GHz also by a processor quad core, also 1,2 GHz. Iconia B1, in addition, it has doubled the available RAM memory, thus equaling itself with the Memo Pad HD 7 to 1 GB. The improvements that have been introduced in the two devices have left them in a situation of technical draw.

Storage capacity
When the first models of both tablets were launched at the beginning of the year, we only had options with 8 GB hard disk, a fairly small amount, although fortunately both had a slot micro-SD. Now, both still give the option to expand the memory with external cards but are also available in versions with 16 GB, for those who need more space, and have in their favor that the price difference for double the storage capacity is quite small, if we compare it with that of other tablets, such as Nexus 7 or iPad mini. In any case, in this section the tablets would be totally on par.
Cameras
The cameras is another point where Memo Pad HD 7 has evolved significantly, clearly outperforming the Iconia B1, which would continue to rely solely on the 0,3 MP front camera. The new models of the tablet Asus, instead, they would now have in addition to the front camera 1,3 MPAnother rear 5 MP, which would already allow us to use the tablet to take pictures.
Connectivity
This is a plus point for the tablet Acer since, at least for the moment, Asus has not announced that the Memo Pad HD 7 will be available online 3Gbut only with connection Wi-Fi. The Iconia B1On the contrary, in its second version it would be available with a mobile connection.

Battery
In battery, at the moment, it seems that there will be no changes for either of the two tablets, so the advantage would continue to be for that of Asus, with 4270 mAh over the 2710 mAh of the of Acer.
Price
Although it is not yet available, from the new Iconia B1 we already have the price to which will go on sale, which will be 129 Euros for the most affordable model. In the case of Memo Pad HD 7However, at the moment we only have reference to its price in dollars, which would be $150 for the model 16 GB (The 8GB one would not be sold internationally). The normal thing is that the translation of this price for Europe is 150 Euros, although at this point we will have to wait for official confirmation. In any case, although the price is higher, it should be noted that we would be referring to the version with 16 GB of hard disk, while the model of the Iconia B1 that would be sold for 129 euros would be the 8 GB one, and we still need confirmation of the price that the model with double the capacity will have to know if they will remain the same or not.
