Dropbox for iOS is updated and will allow you to upload photos in full resolution

Dropbox for iOS

Dropbox for iOS has always been a highly successful app among users due to its large capacity and ease of use for storing and accessing files from your phone. The app has just been updated , largely addressing one of the criticisms from more demanding users: the reduction in resolution of photos uploaded from the camera to Dropbox.

As we know with this cloud storage service we can save documents, videos and photos without having to saturate the memory of our device. In addition, when we download the application and link it to our account, we receive an additional 3 GB for it. For some time now, the application has an automation that allows you to automatically upload the photos you take with your iPhone or iPad camera so that you can access them later and, again, so that they do not take up space on your iDevice.

Complaints pointed to photos losing resolution when uploading to the cloud. This was due to a search for speed in the upload and savings in the data rate, although it could be configured to do so only when we were connected by WiFi.

Obviously if we wanted to keep the original file to later edit it or to contemplate it in maximum splendor with zoom capacity and all of this was not a very satisfactory tool.

With the new update, this has been eliminated. The resolution is maintained, although the file is still compressed, leaving behind some data that affects sharpness and color quality. Some will be happy with this update, which also adds support for iPhone 5 and improved compatibility with iOS 6 , but others complain that photo uploads now take a long time and that they will surely have to be done only over Wi-Fi to avoid a hefty bill.
