Duke Nukem II is 20 years old and to celebrate it has headed towards the screens of the iPad and iPhone. The game made its debut this week on iOS and it is a golden opportunity for the nostalgic, since it reproduces with extreme fidelity what we found in the original, although with some changes derived from the type of device that we will have in hand.
The game then created by Apogee has now been adapted by 3D Realms and Interceptor Entertainment, who also carried out the revision called Duke Nukem 3D Reload that took the shooter to the terrain of the first person.
Nothing of the kind occurs here and we are left with pure 2D, as we found it for MS-DOS. However, we will see our gunman hero and everything around him with more colorful. The animations will also have a bit more fluidity, however the fat pixel aesthetic remains. Have been added new sections of the soundtrack y some illustrations for the cargo spaces between the different phases.
How could it be otherwise, the possibility to save and load game. At the same time we play the phases that we like the most. Have up to 32 levels in which we have to break through using the different weapons that are provided to us as we advance.

Of course, the touch control has been implemented quite skillfully and allowing users to customize it a little.
The price of Nuke Dukem II for iOS is really affordable and in the line of cost that other retro games are using, although in Square Enix do not want to know. It is only worth 1,79 euros in iTunes and you can buy it now.
It is planned to release the first game in this line to recover retro classics. However, it was decided to start with the second installment since it was the one that the fans really claimed to be the best game of the two.
