A few days ago we introduced you the new low-cost tablets from the Spanish company SPC and we saw that among all of them there was a 7-inch model that could stand up to the price of even the Amazon tablet. Can it actually be an interesting alternative to this one? Let's see it in this comparative specifically dedicated to cheaper tablets: Fire 7 2017 vs. SPC Flow 7.0.
Designer
Regarding the design, neither of us went beyond what was expected in ultra-low-cost tablets like these: obviously plastic predominates and, with the fact that probably many of those who buy them do so for their children, we we found that they are available in a few bright colors. In neither case are we going to enjoy any extras but the construction is quite solid, which is the priority in this case.
Dimensions
One of the things that improved the most in the new model of the Four 7 are its dimensions, since now it is a slightly more stylized tablet and, in fact, it would win against the Flow 7.0 both in size19,2 x 11,5 cm against 19,6 x 13,5 cm), as in weight (9,6 mm against 12 mm), but especially in thickness (295 grams against 285 grams). They are not differences, in any case, excessively important, especially if children are going to use it and we are going to put a cover on it.
Screen
Neither with regard to the screen we find anything spectacular, but with both we have guaranteed what can be considered the essential minimum in resolution (1024 x 600) and that some tablets for children do not reach. They also match in size (7 inches) and, as usual in this range, both use the 16:10 aspect ratio equally (optimized for video playback).
Unlimited
One of the points with which we have to be careful when we look for cheap tablets is the performance and, particularly, with the processor. The best low-cost are arriving lately with a processor Mediatek from 4 cores to 1,3 GHz quite reliable and that is what we find in these two. Both accompany him, in addition, with 1 GB RAM memory. One point in favor of glow 7.0, in any case, is that not only does it come with a lighter customization than that of the Four 7, but also comes nothing less than with Android Nougat.
Storage capacity
It is also at the height of the tablet of Amazon of SPC with regard to storage capacity, which in both cases is 8 GB. It is a short figure but it is practically impossible to find anything better in this regard for this price and at least we will have the option of gaining space externally through a card micro-SD.
Cameras
In the cameras section, the tablet of Amazon, since it has a rear of 2 SMWhile SPC He has dispensed with it on his tablet to cut costs, which in our opinion is a reasonable decision. In both cases we will have, yes, a front camera, although with the minimum resolution required to be functional (0,3 SM), just enough for a photo or video call if necessary.
Autonomy
Unfortunately, we cannot say anything about which one can be expected to have a better autonomy, because we do not have comparable real use data, and we cannot make a first approximation from the battery capacity, since Amazon It did not make this data public and having changed the dimensions with respect to the previous model, it is not safe to assume that this is the same. The only thing we can say is that the tablet SPC is 2500 mAh which is a somewhat short figure, but still correct for a device of its characteristics.
Fire 7 2017 vs SPC Flow 7.0: final balance of the comparison and price
As we have seen, we find two tablets that are actually practically identical due to technical specifications with only a couple of issues that can help us tip the balance: the Amazon tablet is somewhat more stylized and has a rear camera, while that of SPC can boast of arriving with a conventional version of Google's mobile operating system, which is also its latest version (Android Nougat). To this must be added a small price difference, which will tip the balance on the side of the Four 7 if we are already Amazon premium customers, because in that case we can benefit from a discount with which it happens to be for 55 Euros instead of 70 Euros, and on the side of the Flow 7.0 if we are not, since this can be bought for 60 Euros without further requirements.
