Although the iPad mini was the pioneer of 8 inches and still the most popular of tablets of this size, it is meeting more and more competition. The comparative that we bring you today faces two of the most powerful rivals in terms of Technical specifications compact tablet Apple : the already known Galaxy Note 8.0 and the new LG G Pad 8.3, just unveiled by South Koreans at the IFA de Berlin.
Designer
As we already showed you in a video that allowed to compare the physical appearance of both tablets, the LG G Pad 8.3 stands out for higher quality finishes and materials premium. There is also a noticeable difference when it comes to the design: the tablet LG it is slightly more square, with much narrower side frames and lacks physical buttons on the front.
Dimensions
Tablet screen LG is slightly older, as its name indicates (8.3 inches), despite which it is more or less as high as that of Samsung (21,7 cm against 21,1 cm) but noticeably narrower (12,7 cm against 13,6 cm). There are no important differences either in terms of thickness (8,3 cm against 8 cm) or in terms of weight (both weigh 338 grams).

Screen
One of the most pronounced differences between both tablets is found in the screen section, not so much because of the size (the tablet of LG is just 0.3 inches larger) as per the resolution, since even though the Galaxy Note 8.0 has an acceptable HD screen of 1280 x 800 (PPI 189), enough at least to surpass the iPad mini, In LG G Pad 8.3 we already have a Full HD screen of 1920 x 1200 (PPI 273).
Unlimited
The processors of both tablets, however, are quite similar, despite the fact that the Galaxy Note 8.0 has been on the market for a few more months: the Exynos 4412 tablet Samsung has 4 nuclei and a frequency of 1,6 GHz; the Snapdragon 600 of the of LG also has 4 nuclei and a very similar frequency, 1,7 GHz. The tie is even clearer when it comes to RAM, with 2 GB each. Either way, the Qualcomm chip in the LG tablet is next-generation and should offer significantly better real performance.
Software
Although the tablet LG could arrive with some advantage in this section because it is a more recent launch, it seems that it will not be like that, since it would arrive with Android 4.2.2, the same version that the tablet already has available Samsung. When it comes to the respective customization layers, as always, it's largely a matter of personal preference: Galaxy Note 8.0, for its part, has a good number of applications and functions specially designed for the stylus that significantly improve the user experience, but from what we can see, the LG G Pad 8.3 It will also bring us some pretty cool features, like the Q Pair, the Q Slide or Knock on.

Storage capacity
With regard to the Storage capacity, the balance is tilted slightly in favor of the Samsung: both have the option to expand the available space using cards micro-SDBut Galaxy Note 8.0 is available with up to 32 GB hard disk, while the LG G Pad 8.3 It seems at the moment that it will only come with 16 GB.
Battery
Waiting for the autonomy tests that allow us to realistically assess the time of use that we can expect from the tablet. LG between recharges (and that, as you already know, depends largely on consumption), the tie between both tablets is absolute, with both batteries of 4600 mAh.
Cameras
We also find an important equality when it comes to the cameras, since in both cases we find a front camera of 1,3 SM and another rear of 5 SM, although the one on the tablet LG can record to 1080p and of Samsung only to 720p.
Price
Even though we don't have the price for the LG G Pad 8.3 there is no doubt, judging by the quality of the materials and components, that it is not a low-cost tablet that we can expect to get for too affordable a price. On the other hand, although the starting price for the most affordable model of the Galaxy Note 8.0 es 419 Euros, we can already find it on Amazon, for example, around 320 Euros. Altogether, and although of course we will have to wait to have the official data on the price of the tablet LG, it does not seem risky to assume that the price will be at least similar to the tablet of Samsung, although its superiority in some sections could justify a slightly higher price. As always, we will be attentive to inform you as soon as there is news in this regard.
