How to watch movies legally on our tablets from Google Play

In this tutorial, we'll show you how to watch movies on your tablets purchased from the movies section of the Google Play Store. First, go to the Play Store and download the latest version of Google Play Movies . Once downloaded, the app will create an icon in your app drawer. Tap the app to launch it, and the first thing it will do is ask for permission to access your Gmail account.

We allow it and then we access the movie catalog.

To access the movie search we must click on the icon in the shape of the Play Store in the upper right part of the screen, and we will access the complete catalog of the Play Store.

Once there, we can move the screen to the right to access the categories, move it to the left to see the latest news or best-selling films, or click on the magnifying glass at the top to access the search engine. Once in the search engine, we look for the name of the movie we want to rent, in our case "Underworld" and when we select it we will access the summary of the movie.

Click on the rent button and a window will appear with the time we have to see it and the purchase data.

We have 30 days to watch the film or 48 hours to watch it once we have played it for the first time. We click on accept and buy to process the payment. Once the purchase is finished, we will have the option to continue buying or immediately play the film. Click on continue shopping to view it later.

The different ways to view the movie are:

  • From a tablet or smartphone with the Google Play Movies application.
  • From a PC entering the web where will the movie appears that we have available.

We access the Google Play Movies application that we have previously downloaded and the movie that we have purchased will appear in the "my rentals" section.

We tap on it, and a window opens with a summary of the film. We tap the "play" icon at the top, and the film begins playing after a warning that the rental will expire 48 hours after the first playback. The playback quality, both video and audio, is good, but the rental prices are exorbitant. Paying €4 for a film you can only watch for 48 hours is a bit excessive , and €2 for older films is also excessive. Nevertheless, it's a legal alternative for watching movies on our tablets.
