HTC Desire 616: mid-range with eight-core processor

HTC Desire 616

The news keeps coming, and despite the recent launch of the company's new flagship phone, details are already starting to leak about the new devices with which the Taiwanese will "surprise" us in the near future. Next on the list, according to the latest reports, is the HTC Desire 616 , a mid-range device with an octa-core processor (the first for the Taiwanese company), of which we've even seen some images.

It hadn't been long since we'd seen the latest addition to the Desire range, as the HTC Desire 816 was unveiled at MWC in Barcelona . This 5.5-inch phablet featured a design very similar to the HTC One , but with a plastic casing in various colors and somewhat modest technical specifications . As reported by other sources, such as Android Help, the new HTC Desire 616 would be positioned in this same category, but with a different design, slightly smaller dimensions, and the addition of an octa-core processor instead of a Snapdragon 400.

This would be the HTC Desire 616

As we mentioned earlier, and as you can see in the leaked images , the HTC Desire 616 is quite easily distinguishable from the HTC Desire 816 simply by looking at the front. It loses the characteristic HTC One design with its two speakers, moving one of them to the back. What isn't so easily apparent in the images is the size difference , but it is nonetheless significant. This device will only have a 5-inch screen, and in fact, its dimensions are more similar to those of the new HTC One M8 : 14,2 x 7,19 cm and 9,1 mm thick.

Some of its technical specifications have also been leaked , although not many at the moment. We do know, however, that the screen will have HD resolution , an octa-core Mediatek processor , and 1 GB of RAM.

When will it be presented?

Unfortunately, about the date it could reach stores and the price for which it will, so far no information has transpired, and it is possible even that it is one of those devices that finally does not leave Asia. We will be attentive, anyway, to any news in this regard, as always.
