HTC's phablet could be Nexus 5

Since the launch of Nexus 7 new Google devices were expected to follow. The most powerful rumor so far had been that of Nexus 10, but that of a Nexus 5 that could be neither more nor less than expected HTC phablet.

The anticipation aroused by the new HTC phablet can reach a new level. All the specialized media agree that Nexus 7 will not be the only tablet that Google will present. Considering that the iPad is the market dominator, forecasts have always focused on larger devices. Thus, throughout the summer there has been speculation about the upcoming arrival of a nexus 10, a 10 '' tablet, and when a new Asus device with this size and a strange nomenclature passed through the FCC that placed it as an intermediate model of their Transformers (which seemed like a strange strategy), it began to be rumored that this could be the device that will occupy that gap. What did not appear on the agenda, until now, is that Google opted for a smaller model.

Although this news of an upcoming Nexus 5 does not cancel at all a future Nexus 10, the truth is that we have not heard anything else from this 10-inch tablet. However, we have heard, and a lot, of the HTC 5 inch phablet which rumors now put even more in the spotlight. As reported Android Authority, the phablet that has caused the most stir in recent times, despite the success of the Galaxy Note II and the fact that we know little or nothing about it officially, it could be the new device championed by Google. This might explain, incidentally, why HTC was delaying its presentation and why it wasn't announced last week.

Undoubtedly, this would be great news for users, in case Google maintains the same policy with the Nexus 5 as it has carried out with the Nexus 7: minimizing profits on the sale of hardware in exchange for getting new customers for its contents, or what is the same, great technical specs, low prices. The characteristics of the HTC phablet, as we have already informed you, are certainly spectacular (resolution of about 500 pixels per inch, Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core processor), which suggested a rather high price, but being a Google device, things could be very different.

As if this were not enough, there is still one more promising rumor: in the same way that Nexus 7 brought us Jelly Bean, the phablet would incorporate a latest version of Android (Android 4.1.2.) In which the “Project Butter”(Google's project to improve the responsiveness of its operating system) would have made even greater progress.
