One of the most impressive prototypes seen at CES this year was Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon now on sale in the United States. This model should be classified as a giant Windows 8 tablet although also as a multimedia center for the whole family.
At that technology fair we saw several bets of tablets of an unusual size above 20 inches that were intended to stay at home and become a device for group use.
Lenovo's has 27-inch Full HD screen. It has an Intel processor with several options up to Core i7 third generation and, in terms of work memory, we can choose up to 8 GB of RAM. All this to move Window 8. It weighs 8 Kg but houses 1 TB of internal memory and stereo speakers with support for Dolby Home Theater, ideal for watching movies. It has a front camera that records in HD 720p and all the connectors you can imagine to connect accessories, other devices and card readers of different sizes.
Actually, its design is All in one PC and it also works with keyboard and mouse. This would be the most traditional use of a desktop computer. We can use it as a tablet with touch control having it vertically or completely flat giving access to more people. It is in this position that it really becomes a multimedia center.
To take advantage of the screen size, it has a great touch recognition that allows multiple people to operate at the same time. It has specific applications and games for collaborative action, many of them with educational intent for the little ones. Being Lenovo, it has Bluestacks technology that allows use Android apps with a simulator.

Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon is priced at $ 1.700, the same as they gave in their presentation. At the moment, it is only available in the American market, but it will surely cross the pond soon.
