Lenovo tablets 2017: betting on the quality / price ratio on Android and Windows

We recently reviewed Huawei's updated tablet catalog , but there's another Chinese manufacturer that usually receives less attention and yet currently has some of the most interesting offers for those looking for good value for money , not only for Android but also for Windows : these are all the Lenovo tablets in 2017.

Lenovo tablets with Windows: the Miix range

If we're not considering imported tablets and the prices of the new Surface Pro and Galaxy Book 12 are beyond our budget, Lenovo is probably the brand we should consider right now. Not only are the mid-range models in the Miix line noteworthy , but even the high-end models are available at quite attractive prices.

Miix 320. We'll start with the most affordable of them all, recently launched in our country and the most highly recommended Windows tablet sold here directly in its price range: it's a 10.1-inch tablet with an Intel Atom X5 processor , 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, and HD resolution in the €300 model , and 128 GB of storage and Full HD resolution in the €450 model . We should be aware of the limitations imposed by an Intel Atom processor, but at least we'll have a good amount of RAM and storage space.

The Miix 510. If we can afford to invest a little more, but can't reach €100, we can buy a Miix 510 for even less than €700 , with a 12.2-inch screen and Intel Core i3 processors or better. In fact, if performance is more important to us than image quality, and we can settle for its Full HD resolution, right now for €1060 —just a little more than the basic Surface Pro—we can get the configuration with an Intel Core i7 processor , 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of storage.

The Miix 720 is already a high-end tablet, and its only real drawback (if that's even relevant to us) is its camera. In all other aspects of its technical specifications, it matches or even surpasses the new Surface Pro , including an even higher resolution and the inclusion of both standard USB ports and a USB-C port. It also mimics the Surface Pro's design by incorporating a rear kickstand, which, originality aside, is a definite plus in our opinion.

Lenovo tablets with Android: the Yoga range and beyond

Lenovo's presence in the Android territory has always been led by its Yoga range (although there were also Windows models of this), even if it has never been limited to it, but with the new Lenovo Tab 4 we already have a few alternatives interesting, especially if we are looking for a mid-range tablet.

Before we get into the new releases for 2017, we want to highlight a slightly older tablet that's still a great option to consider if you're looking for a budget-friendly tablet . It's one of the few that can compete with the Fire 7 on price and a perfect choice for those who dislike the limitations of Fire OS. In terms of technical specifications, they're practically identical, and now that the price of the Fire 7 has increased, for non-Amazon Prime members, they cost roughly the same, around 70 euros.

Lenovo Tab 4 8. If you have a slightly larger budget, among this year's new models there's a rather interesting entry-level 8-inch tablet with HD resolution, a Snapdragon processor , 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. So far, it's pretty standard for this type of tablet, but it's also one of the few in this price range that runs Android Nougat . The price is also quite reasonable: €170.

Lenovo Tab 4 10. If compact tablets are a bit too small for our needs, getting a tablet with a larger screen will cost us just a little more: for only 180 euros we can buy the Lenovo Tab 4 10 , without having to sacrifice any technical specifications, which remain virtually unchanged, but now reaching 10.1 inches . And as with its smaller sibling, compared to other similar tablets, it has the advantage of running Android Nougat.

Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus. Although we haven't seen it for sale in Spain, the 8-inch model will also have a "plus" version, announced for €250 , which, in addition to jumping to Full HD resolution, will feature a more powerful Snapdragon processor and 3GB of RAM. The cameras are also more powerful, although this is a minor point. One very attractive extra, however, is the glass casing that replaces the plastic of the standard version.

Lenovo Tab 4 10 Plus. The 10-inch model also has a "plus" version, with the same elegant glass casing, the same Full HD resolution, the same Snapdragon 625 processor, and the same 3 GB of RAM. As with the standard version, the only difference between the larger and smaller versions is the size (and, naturally, the battery capacity, to compensate), although the price difference is a bit more noticeable: it's not yet available in our country, but it was announced for 300 euros.

Yoga Tab 3 Plus. Before finishing our review of Lenovo 's Android tablets , we want to mention another slightly older model (though not too old, as it's from the end of last year), from the Yoga family in this case, which we always highlight when we talk about the best tablets of 2017 in terms of value for money , because it's selling on Amazon for just over 300 euros ( we've even seen it cheaper ), a figure that really catches the eye when we consider that it's actually a high-end tablet, Quad HD screen included.

An original proposal, with Android or Windows: Yoga Book

Lenovo not only offers tablets with a good price-to-performance ratio but also some original designs, such as the Yoga Book , which features a touchpad that can function as a keyboard and can also be used for drawing, for example. In terms of technical specifications, it's similar to the higher-end version of the Miix 320: an Intel Atom X5 processor , a 10.1-inch Full HD screen , 4 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of storage. Like many of its Yoga tablets, it's available with Android or Windows and costs around €500.
