Little Kitten, free as App of the Week

As every Friday, it's time to discover the new App of the Week on the App Store , and this time the lucky ones are those with children at home, who once again have the opportunity to get a free premium children's app and expand their collection a little more: we present Little Kitten.

A virtual pet and many mini-games

Little Kitten starts with a fantastic hook to capture children's attention: the little kitten that gives the game its name and is eager to become their new virtual pet . Fortunately, however, it's not the kind of virtual pet that will constantly demand our attention (although we can feed it), but rather a playmate who encourages us to explore our surroundings and helps out in the mini-games.

The true heart of Little Kitten lies in its diverse array of mini-games for children: you can play hide-and-seek, cat and mouse, paint, jump on the bed, or do puzzles. There's also an educational mini-game called "the cat in the box," and even the task of feeding the cat, which we mentioned earlier, has been transformed into a fun activity.

Designed especially for children

Of course, everything in this application is designed with the needs of the little ones in mind, which not only means that there will be no inappropriate content, something we logically take for granted, but also that the mini-games will be presented in the way that best suits them, to be as accessible and easy to use as possible and to introduce the appropriate stimuli, with games that help to enhance important qualities such as attention or creativity but without generating unnecessary stress.

This is reflected, for example, in the fact that its creators have reduced the use of icons and menus to a minimum, making navigation very intuitive, thinking of younger children, or in which the games do not include competitive elements of any kind. , a pattern that more and more children's games are adopting. A time limiter has even been introduced that will allow us to avoid that the iPad session is too long: when we decide, our kitten will simply get sleepy and go to sleep, so that the games will have come to an end.

Free for a limited time

Like any good children's app, Little Kitten doesn't have any in-app purchases, which will save us from unpleasant surprises, but we only have until next Thursday to download it for free , although with the weekend about to start it seems like this would be the perfect time to get it.

As always, we'll keep you updated on the most interesting new iPad apps.
