When we talk about the games that have just landed in the application catalogs, we comment that in most of these new titles, we can find more elaborate effects and graphics that have nothing to envy those of the great works for video consoles. The action and strategy genres are the spearhead of this new generation, although they are not the only ones that offer a higher experience.
Today we're going to talk about Old Man's Journey , an intelligence and adventure game that makes use of these improvements in the visual field and thanks to which it tries to transport the public to a familiar but at the same time almost mystical world that may help many, at least in theory, to disconnect and have a good time while trying to escape from everyday life.
Argument
In this game, the objective is very simple: We'll have to walk and explore an idyllic environment where we'll find all sorts of landscapes. At first glance, it might seem boring, but things get a bit more complicated when puzzles appear in the towns and landscapes we visit. Solving these puzzles will allow us to learn more about the elderly protagonist of this story. Broadly speaking, it could be said that we're dealing with a hybrid between a game and a novel.
Gameplay
One of the most striking features of Old Man's Journey, according to its developers, is that through various puzzles, we learn more about the life of this man, experiencing alternating moments of joy and sadness that allow us to empathize with him. All of this unfolds in environments that, depending on the old man's mood, become more melancholic or vibrant. The landscapes have been hand -drawn and optimized for tablets and smartphones.
Gratuitous?
The game has an initial price of €5,49 . It was recently released on Google Play, resulting in a relatively small audience. Initially, it may not require in-app purchases, although its creators state that for optimal performance, the devices on which it is installed must have more than 1 GB of RAM . Higher RAM will improve the experience.
