Just a week before its launch, Microsoft's new operating system continues to deliver news.  Windows 8 has updated the Skype application thus bringing a new look, better use of energy battery and sync with contacts Windows. In this way, the online calling service of the Redmond company dresses up for the occasion.

As for the appearance, things will change a lot. Now we will have a minimalist design, clear and concise very in the line of Windows 8 apps. We will have big buttons y columns that we can pass by dragging our finger. On the home screen we find three columns: one with recent activity, another with favorite contacts, and another with all your contacts.

The large buttons in that tile structure of Windows 8 make things really easy for the user when it comes to handling the application.

With regards to battery. We all know what Skype spends. When we use it on the laptop or on a tablet and we are not connected to the network, as in desktop computers, there is a very significant energy expenditure. The program spends many resources even without being in full call. Simply being latent and receptive to incoming calls makes you spend. Well, it seems that they have solved a good part of the problem, since although the application is open in the background, consumes almost no energy. They do this especially with tablets in mind, which have less battery capacity.

Skype for Windows 8 will integrated into your contact list and in the People app. This means that when you look at the contacts on your tablet, you can choose between sending an email or calling via Skype. To make this easier and more automatic, you can activate the option that when you log in to your Microsoft account, the video-calling service is also activated automatically.

This is the most remarkable among other less structural changes. The free download of the application will be possible from the same day October 26 when Windows 8 devices and your own Surface hit the stores.
