New clues to the price of the iPad Mini?

About the iPad Mini we do not know anything officially, but rumors do not stop emerging. One of the great unknowns is its price. Now some photos have begun to circulate that supposedly would be of the device's case and the highlight is that there does not seem to be a hole for a rear camera. Could this be an Apple choice to be able to maintain a price more competitive compared to the 7 '' tablets that are already on the market?

We recently talked to you about the controversy surrounding the price of the Nexus 7. The experts wondered if it was possible that, selling for $ 199, the tablet produced expected benefits. Presumably, Google would try at that price to compete with the Kindle Fire and to do so would have sacrificed the addition of rear camera, since the Amazon tablet does not have any camera and, therefore, they would still have an advantage over it. The debate is now repeated with iPad Mini and it seems that you might think that Apple had decided follow the same strategy.

The origin of the photos, in any case, is quite doubtful. They appeared on a microblogging page in China and their authenticity is completely questioned. In fact, these photos are in open divergence with the photos of covers that had appeared and from which it was inferred that it would incorporate a camera on the back. In the absence of confirmation from Apple, one can only speculate with the likelihood that the company bet on the strategy of a 7 inch tablet (approximately) with a single camera.

Considering, however, that it would not lose competitiveness with the current dominators of that sector of the tablet market, the strategy would not seem too far-fetched. Especially when it comes to the price of the iPad Mini should be reduced to at least 40% compared to the new iPad (so it would cost $ 300 or less) because, in addition to the portability of the smaller tablets, a fundamental attraction of these is their price more affordable. Will Apple have sacrificed features to lower the price of the device?
