Google had decided to cancel its event today in New York to avoid problems with Hurricane Sandy. What the Mountain View company doesn't seem to want to do is fall behind in the fast-paced tablet launch race before Christmas. That is why it has launched the two new Nexus 7 models what we expected, one with 32 GB and another with 32 GB and 3G, in addition to the also desired Nexus 10, manufactured by Samsung, and Nexus 4, manufactured by LG.
nexus 10, presented today tooIt will have a great battle but the war is especially fierce in the 7-inch format in the world of tablets. iPad mini has come out strong despite disappointing some analysts a bit, but its sales are proving very successful. Kindle Fire HD was also pressing, so the search engine company had to up the ante.
With these two new models, the Nexus 7 offer remains this way. We can choose the old model of 16 GB for 199 euros. And now we can also choose a model of 32 GB for 249 euros and the 32 GB model with connection by WiFi + 3G for 299 euros. The 8GB model has been retired, something we certainly expected due to its lack of competitiveness after recent releases.
Needless to say, the bet is a real price scandal. Little more you can say about one of the most successful tablets of all time and the queen at seven inches, until iPad mini says otherwise, if it does.
The technical specifications of these two new models are identical to what we already had except for the highlighted details. On the Google website it is not said that either of these two improvements increases the weight of 340 grams but we bet that some small variation, invaluable on the other hand, must be.
The 16GB and 32GB models are available for purchase now. For the 32 GB we will have to wait a little longer.
