As every Friday, it's time to discover the new App of the Week in the App Store and, as is becoming more and more common, we find that Apple has once again chosen one that we can take advantage of in our leisure time, even though this time it's not a game: we present Night Sky 4.
An application to enjoy inside and outside the home, day and night
Thanks to the success of Pokémon GO, augmented reality is more fashionable than ever, especially when it allows us to truly take advantage of the mobility of our smartphones and tablets and enjoy them outside the home , which is something that astronomy applications have been doing for quite some time, albeit in a simpler way.
Because they're not exactly a game yet, if you've had the chance to try any of them, you'll know they have some things in common with the latest Pikachu game: like this one, we can enjoy them when we're relaxing on the sofa, but to get the most out of them, it's ideal to take them with us when we go out, especially at night , so they can help us understand what we see (or even discover what we can't see) when we look at the sky.
The best astronomy app to date
And, as we mentioned, for these types of applications, this way of interacting with our environment is nothing new; it's a formula they've been using for a long time. So much so that, as you can see, Night Sky , one of the most popular of them all, is already on its fourth edition.
As you might expect, the developers have learned a great deal from its predecessors and have had the opportunity to introduce many improvements in this latest installment, making Night Sky 4 probably the best app of its kind currently available. Among the new content added are, for example, spectacular recreations of the moon landings to date.
Free for a limited time
Needless to say, this is a unique opportunity for astronomy fans, but it's also a great chance for anyone to get the app for free and try taking a look at the sky above their city. Remember, you can do this until next Thursday.
As always, we will continue to keep an eye on the latest iPad app news.
