Photographic apps could be divided into two large families. On the one hand, we find those focused on retouching and editing the images housed in the galleries. On the other, that series of tools that seek to go further. These have elements of social networks that allow you to share your creations with both your closest friends and users from all over the world. Among all of them, we can find some leaders like Instagram.
In both categories, we frequently see the launch of new platforms that aim to challenge the established giants and gain legions of followers. Today we're going to introduce you to 9GAG , another one of these tools that, like many others, is geared towards a young audience and has already achieved tens of millions of downloads worldwide.
Operation
The concept behind 9GAG is reminiscent of other platforms that combine visuals with communication. On it, we can follow lists of users who upload photos, GIFs , and other short video clips. At the same time, we can create our own content. Daily lists of the most popular content in specific regions or worldwide are available on the application's servers.
Small changes compared to other photographic apps
As we've seen, 9GAG shares many similarities with other apps in its category. However, there are other variations that can make all the difference, such as the ability to group viewed content into galleries, which can be tagged and organized. For a more complete experience, it's possible to share posts not only with other users of this app, but also through other platforms like WhatsApp or Facebook.
Free?
This tool has no initial cost . Perhaps this has been one of the reasons why it has reached 50 million downloads . However, it does require in-app purchases that can cost up to €2,52 per item. Updated a few weeks ago, the new version allows users to add YouTube content and choose from a wider variety of themes when customizing their profile.
