Pokedex: Nintendo takes its first step on iOS

Pokedex iOS

Nintendo and its great titles in video games have not yet made the leap to mobile platforms or touch screens. This has a lot to do with the fact that Nintendo continues to release new devices such as Wii U and keeps Nintendo DS very active as direct competitors in portable video games. However, although it is not a game, the first application of the Japanese company has come to iOS. We talk about Pokedex which will now be available on the screens of your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch.

Pokedex iOS

Pokedex is a Illustrated encyclopedia of all 647 Pokémon characters. In it we can discover their size, weight, their abilities, their evolutions and all kinds of extra details such as their movements, their TM movements, their origin or where to find them, types of egg, against which rivals they are good or bad, etc.

To reach them, you can search or organize them by the aforementioned criteria and thus expand your knowledge of all the creatures in this animated universe. You can take notes on them and mark them as favorites. It is great as a guide for other games.

The app has Retina display support being able to see everything in high definition, but there is a more nice visual detail, and that is that there are 3D animations of the movements of the characters.

In the app the Unova Pokémon (These are from 494 to 647) but then you can purchase the rest of the different editions with in-app purchases.

The app is worth 1,79 Euros and it's already available on iTunes. We do not know if this is an advance to an imminent arrival of a game in the series of the many that can be enjoyed on Nintendo consoles, but its description in the application store seems to suggest it by saying that it is ideal as a guide for the game. We will have to wait a little longer, but it is a first step.
