After disappearing at the beginning of summer, the weekly deals on Google Play are back since last week and we can't help but be happy about it, especially considering the title selected this time, which many will surely be happy to get for only 10 cents : Prince of Persia Shadow & Flame.
Prince of Persia Shadow & Flame: another video game classic to enjoy on our tablet
We've mentioned it many times: mobile devices are retro-gaming's best friend, giving us the chance to relive many classic video games. The only downside is that they're usually paid titles (though that's true of many of the best tablet games ) and often not very cheap, so it's especially good news when we find them on sale from time to time—an opportunity worth taking advantage of.
This is the case with Prince of Persia: Shadow & Flame , which has been featured as the Deal of the Week on Google Play and which, for the next 7 days, we can get for just 10 cents. For younger players or those who might have forgotten, it's worth remembering that this is the second installment of the original trilogy. The first one, by the way, for those who want to start from the beginning, can be found on Google Play as Prince of Persia Classic (as you can see, the titles vary slightly in these newer versions) and, although it's not as popular, it's quite affordable at €2. An important warning (especially if there are children involved), however, is that even though it's a premium title, there are still in-app purchases (in both versions).
Adapted to mobile devices but without losing any of its charm
In case there's anyone who recognizes the name Prince of Persia but isn't quite sure if it might interest them, it's worth mentioning that it's a platform game , with considerably more action than the Super Mario Bros. games, and with a greater emphasis on the backstory, which tells the adventures of the prince who gives it its title, this time after he has already secured the throne, and which will unfold across dozens of levels (it should be noted, however, that it's not an excessively long game).
While it retains all the charm of the original game, which will delight nostalgic (or curious) players, there's no need to worry because the adaptation for touch controls has been effective and the gameplay experience on smartphones and tablets is very good, although it's true that it's even more enjoyable with a controller . And, of course, although, as with all classic video games, the heart of this Prince of Persia: Shadow & Flame is the single-player mode, some components have also been added to make it more social, with achievements and leaderboards.
