The 3-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 was officially presented and few escaped us that it is a device that will try to take the market from below. In the absence of knowing its price, presumably very low, we must be aware that there are a large number of models from other manufacturers that make a similar proposal with which it will have to compete. Among them are several computer giants that also offer great prices. Today we want to measure the bet of the Korean company against one of it. Here goes one comparison between Galaxy Tab 3 7.0 and HP Slate 7.
Design, size and weight
Samsung's does not surprise us with its appearance. It is almost the same as the previous generation and in line with almost all of its mobile devices. The American tablet has a bold but slim design, with several color options.
The Korean is slightly thinner and lighter, even in the 3G version.

Screen
Both companies have opted for a low-benefit option in terms of resolution in this section. However, it is worth highlighting the HFFS technology to widen the viewing angle of the screen that the Hewlett-Packard incorporates.
Unlimited
The processor of the American tablet is composed of cores that rotate at a higher frequency than the Korean one. Both opt for the same version of the operating system so it is more than likely that there is not an appreciable difference in both devices.
Storage
HP Slate 7 only offers an 8 GB version compared to the 8 and 16 options of its rival. As for the expansion by microSD card, its opponent also wins: 32 GB compared to 64 GB. However, the first USB port is OTG so external storage can be connected.
Connectivity
Galaxy Tab 3 wins in this regard. We will have the option to buy a version with 3G, which will be obviously more expensive, and all will have WiFi Direct. These two aspects are not found in the American.
Cameras and sound
Both have a similar endowment in terms of cameras. Perhaps the extra half pixel of the rear camera of the HP could be highlighted, but it will not be noticed. It should be noted the particularity that the latter has the rear camera placed to the side perhaps to help when we hold the tablet with one hand when taking a photo.
Battery
The 4.000 mAh of the Samsung will undoubtedly exceed the 5 hours offered by the battery of its rival. Nexus 7 has 4.325 mAh and offers about 9 hours. So we can wait between 8 and 8:XNUMX.
Prices and conclusions
The Galaxy Tab 3 7.0, still short of specifications, surpasses in several respects the HP Slate 7. Perhaps in the only sections where the American can take his head are on the screen, slightly in performance and design.
However, its price is very difficult to beat, we are at 149 euros in Europe, although in the United States it has fallen and it could also do so in Spain.
Samsung has more prestige in this format than the great computer giant, but money is becoming a fundamental factor as well as customization options and its fun colors can be a success. According to current benefits, both tablets should be considered in the low cost line, although with the guarantee of proven manufacturers.
