Samsung shows what could be a hybrid tablet with Windows 8

The Korean brand has unveiled one of its most striking new products at IFA Berlin in a video. Under the slogan "the evolution of technology," the images suggest a hybrid device , a blend of notebook and tablet, although the product itself isn't clearly shown, presumably to build a sense of mystery. Take a look at Samsung's latest offering for yourself.

According to Digital Trends and CNET , Samsung has a hybrid tablet, similar to the Asus Transformer, running Windows 8, ready to be unveiled at the major event that will steal the spotlight in early September: IFA Berlin . The device was presented in a rather cryptic and mysterious video on Samsung's official YouTube channel, where the supposed tablet isn't clearly shown ; in fact, at times it appears to be simply a new notebook from the South Korean brand.

Upon playing the video, the initial images are quite misleading, focusing more on somewhat allegorical figures than the device itself. However, as the recording progresses, shots emerge that promise something very interesting . Both Digital Trends and CNET are betting on a tablet: the former highlights the image at the 25-second mark, which shows something very thin and shiny that clearly resembles a tablet design. Furthermore, it wouldn't make much sense to boast so much about technological advancement only to end up presenting a simple notebook.

There are other indications that support this theory: Samsung already hinted at the development of such a device at the Computex trade show in Taiwan, just before summer, calling it the Series 5 Hybrid . It consisted of an 11-inch screen attached to a detachable keyboard. It also included a stylus, Windows 8 operating system, 3G connectivity, and an 8-megapixel camera.

Next Friday, the Berlin technology fair will finally begin , and we'll be able to clear up any doubts then. For now, we can only watch the video and wait for the date to get more news.
