A couple of days ago Nvidia presented Tegra note, a prototype tablet that will serve other manufacturers as a white label product. This means that companies will buy a product previously designed and which in the manufacturing process they will give their own finish to the equipment to link it to their brand. Nvidia has made this effort, as its most advanced chip was not finding its place in the industry. Almost all manufacturers have opted for compounds from Qualcomm and Intel for their 2013 tablets.
The interesting thing is that the manufacturing costs have been planned so that the tablet can be sold for $200. In this sense, this series of tablets is seen as one of the largest competitors for the recent Nexus 7 (2013). This is why we are going to make a comparison between both tablets to have a clearer idea of what each one offers.
The Nexus 7 (2013) is already on the streets, however, no Tegra Note has yet gone on sale. Yesterday the HP Slate 7 Extreme which presented some differences with respect to the model presented by Nvidia but used Tegra 4. In any case, we are going to have as a reference what the chip company presented.

Design, size and weight
The design of tablets with Tegra 4 are rougher, in terms of dimensions and weight, than that of Google. As for the finish that will be given, it will change significantly in each brand.
Screen
Being one of the most expensive components, Nvidia has opted for a lower resolution than Nexus. It equals the first generation which is more than decent for the screen size.
Unlimited
Tegra 4 is a more powerful processor on the role that the Snapdragon S4 Pro, although we remember that the tablet manufactured by ASUS is modified and is close to the Snapdragon 600. benchmarks made to both processors it can be said that the general performance of Nvidia is superior although there is some aspect where Qualcomm stands out.
As for the software, Nvidia will come out with Android 4.2 for now, but they will be the ones who provide the software updates regardless of the manufacturer behind each tablet.
Storage
Although the Tegra Note's options are minor, the inclusion of the micro SD card slot up to 32GB tips the scales on its side. Integration with cloud services is just as good on both.
Connectivity
The option of connection by mobile networks is not on the table in the tablet designed by Nvidia, for this, its Tegra 4i chip would have to be installed, a version with this type of support. To have an LTE connection on Nexus 7 we have to pay a little more, but there it is.
In favor of the white label tablet, it is worth highlighting the micro HDMI port while in Google's, the NFC, much less practical.
Cameras and sound
The two tablets go hand in hand when it comes to cameras. In sound, both devices incorporate two stereo speakers although the position of these varies. In the ASUS they are in the back while in the Nvidia they are in the front. Although the latter include a box integrated bass reflector.
Battery
Google's has a slightly smaller battery than the Tegra Note. In the end their autonomy is very similar.
Accessories
The option of being able to use a stylus it's great. In addition, the directstylus it is accompanied by software that cancels the touch of the hand once it touches the screen.
Prices and conclusions
Nvidia was at a disadvantage when Google stopped relying on it with its compact tablet processor. With this white label model, they will have access to multiple distribution chains thanks to the brands. It is unknown if the brands are really going to pick up the handkerchief that Nvidia tends.
On paper, Tegra Note is a very interesting tablet, which is only below the Nexus 7 (2013) in terms of screen, mobile network connectivity and portability, since it is a bit thicker and heavier. For the rest, we have in it a more powerful, more versatile team with a better price.
The stone is on the roof of the manufacturers, Nvidia has done a good job.
