The new Nexus 7 and the Kindle Fire HDX face each other on video

Nexus 7 vs. Kindle Fire HDX

Last year these two franchises had a spectacular commercial duel in the compact tablet segment, the Nexus 7 of 2013 and Kindle Fire HDX now promise to reissue it. Both share substantial similarities, but also notable differences and that ambivalence is precisely what makes choosing one or the other team so interesting. We show you the new devices of Google and Amazon sharing plane.

Both Google and Amazon have been opting for lower the price of sale to the public in order to recover the investment, in the first case mainly through advertising, and in the second, of the contents. On the other hand, we have two extreme examples when it comes to customizing the Android system. The Nexus 7 carries the Google interface, while the Kindle Fire HDX runs on a own ecosystem with an absolutely particular and personalized cape.

External appearance

The appearance of both devices is very different. The new Nexus 7 is more elongated, with narrow frames and ready to be used mainly in portrait mode, while the Kindle Fire HDX is much more square, with a more prominent casing and adapted to landscape orientation.

Screen

La display on both devices is really similar, though in terms of saturation the Amazon team seems to be doing a bit better, showing a blacker black.

Audio

La speaker position In the Kindle Fire HDX and in the Nexus 7 of 2013 it is similar, however, the first seems to be better designed in this regard, since they are located far from the range of the position of our hands when holding the equipment, while in the tablet of Google we can plug the exit of the audio without realizing it.

The sound on the Amazon tablet seems something more seriouse than in the case of the Nexus 7, but both offer good performance in general.

Interface

El Kindle Fire HDX It is a team designed to consume content and that is the idea that almost all its menus give, very simple and accessible. For a regular Android user the organization may be not very efficient, but someone who is facing a tablet for the first time does not have to know which application is for what, and Fire OS labels they make it very easy.

Nexus 7 HTC LG

The new Nexus 7, on the other hand, is a paradise for android lovers. The amount of configurations (not default) it offers, if we like to explore the resources of Google Play it is simply amazing.

Unlimited

We know that Kindle Fire HDX It has a much more powerful processor than the new Nexus 7, capable of exceeding its performance in the AnTuTu benchmarks perhaps by more than 10.000 points. However, the writer wonders, why do we want so much power in such a closed system? I mean, the carousel is going to move very fast from one side to the other, but the games work just as well on the Nexus 7.

We certainly have our doubts about it. The hardware offered by the Kindle Fire HDX is possibly the best in 7 inches. Advanced users who want to work with custom ROMs have a real bonanza with this team.

Cameras

El Nexus 7 of 2013 I tried a rear camera and the Kindle Fire HDX did not. However, we think the video is spot on by saying that it "hates" using the camera on a tablet. We can not agree more. Even 7 inches are too bulky to take pictures.

Autonomy

Both teams are well served with about 8,5 hours of use, approximately.
