La update of the official Twitter app for iOS has reached the iTunes App Store. The so-called Twitter 5.0 was a long-awaited application since the official manager of the social network had always defrauded and its users were forced to use third-party Twitter clients. The update is noticeable especially on iPad and although it brings some visual improvements, most users reject and openly criticize it. We tell you what's new in the Twitter application and what we miss in its version for iPad.

How improvements can we highlight those of display. Now we can expand the tweets to view the linked photo or video or part of the content of the linked news. Are photos and videos can be viewed in full screen from the application itself.
User photos also have a new format and when we enter the profiles of our contacts we can see their latest photos. We would also say that it has improved the options for following trends, suggestion of contacts, see who has retweeted you with the tools linked to the Discover button that we also find on the web.
As an aspect that you may like more or less, the dropdown sidebar has disappeared or been reduced to a simple sidebar with the buttons that we can find on iPhone and on the web.
Here come the controversial aspects.
To retweet, open a link to a tweet or click on a hashtag we first have to expand tweet, including an intermediate step to any of the most common actions on Twitter. This has angered many users and has generated spin-offs such that Twitter client applications are skyrocketing.
Many users, in fact, ask in their comments if there is a way to go back to the old native Apple application.
We will see if Twitter rectifies or we will have to follow with TweetBot, TweetDeck, Hootsuite and all the others. It seems that a good Twitter app for iPad is still something to look forward to.
