Our top 5 , as expected, is led by Angry Birds Evolution , but the truth is that the genre currently dominating Google Play is racing games, with exciting new releases like Asphalt Street Storm Racing . Here's our weekly selection of the best new free Android games.
Angry Birds Evolution
Combining the most famous birds from mobile games with the mechanics of Pokémon -style fighting games could only result in a resounding success, and indeed, Angry Birds Evolution is already a download sensation. The competition begins to be the first to acquire the rarest of the more than one hundred characters available to unlock and evolve, with the added bonus that taking a walk while playing is optional.
Asphalt Street Storm Racing
Angry Birds isn't the only franchise with a new release, because this week we also find a new installment of one of the most popular racing games among the new releases on Google Play: Asphalt Street Storm Racing . The title refers to the main element in this new game, which, as you can imagine, is the worst weather conditions, including storms and snow—a welcome scenario now that the warmer weather has arrived.
Cars Lightning League
Disney also has news for racing game fans , because although the protagonist might make us think that we're going to find more of a runner or a Mario Kart-style game at best, it turns out that this Cars Lightning League is a fairly conventional car game, except, of course, that its protagonists are the vehicles not the drivers and because everything has, obviously, a much more charming and endearing touch than usual.
Driving Zone: Germany
This week's third racing game is from another series that hasn't reached the fame of Asphalt, but already boasts a good number of installments and a sizable fanbase. If you weren't familiar with it before, the name might lead you to imagine that each game takes you to circuits in a different part of the world, but what it actually refers to is the nationality of the car brands you'll be driving. Another distinguishing feature is that it's more of a driving simulator , in the broadest sense, with more options than usual.
Majestia
We finish with a strategy game that, for once, isn't just another twist on the formula popularized by Clash of Clans. Instead, it's more like a classic strategy game, with a battle arena that's a bit like a chessboard and turn-based movement in matches between two heroes (accompanied by their respective armies). Incidentally, the characters we'll be battling with include renowned figures, such as gods from various mythologies and great historical warriors.
More free games for Android
We'll finish, as always, by reminding you that throughout the week we'll be keeping you informed about the most interesting new Android games , and many of them are free, so stay tuned if you're left wanting more.
