Although some call it a fad, what is clear is that more and more manufacturers are counting among their offer of smartphones with at least one of 5 inches or more and even Samsung, has dared for its flagship device, the Galaxy S4, to adopt this format. However, it seems that so far only manufacturers of Android have entered the realm of phablets, something that could change in the near future: according to the latest information, Microsoft is preparing the new versions of Windows Phone for screens 5 inches or more.
Whether or not it is a transient trend, demand for smartphones with screens 5 inches or more continues to grow and it is increasingly strange (or even inappropriate, in the opinion of many analysts) that neither Apple ni Microsoft dare to make the leap to this type of device, letting it become a private hunting ground for Android.
In the case of the apple company, everything indicates that the situation will change soon, although it is not yet known if it will do so with the iPhone 5S this same summer, or with the rumored iPhone+ next year. Neither Microsoft seems willing to stay behind and, equally, signs are beginning to arrive that the Redmond will allow us to see soon too phablets with operating system Windows.

The news, for now, only refers to the optimization of the next version of Windows Phone for screens 5 inches or more, adding an extra row of 'tiles', and it does not give us any clue as to whether this type of device will come from the own hand of Microsoft, as happened in the case of tablets with Surface, or if you will simply rely on other manufacturers to bring the expertise of the phablets to your operating system.
Despite the fact that a few months ago there were rumors that Nokia could have a phablet in the oven, and even some supposed images of him were seen, the truth is that a lot of time has passed and nothing has been heard about the matter again. On the other hand, seeing how fast Microsoft seems to have adapted to the changes in the tablet industry, and that virtually no one doubts that it will soon launch a surface mini, it may sample similarly quickly and surprise us with a smartphone de 5 inches.
